Lilacs & Stuff

I'm standing out on the deck breathing in that absolutely wonderful lilac aroma & thinking this is all I want to do the rest of my life - be surrounded by lilacs everyday, all day with just enough breeze to keep the the fragrance coming my way.  It almost made me forget about FitzWalkerstan, almost.

You can click the pics to big the pics but you will need to use your imagination when it comes to the smell, sorry about that.  I wish I could invent a click it to big it when it came to lilac aroma.

The Kid found the morels while doing some yard work/landscaping this afternoon.  Let's just say that they were delicious, particularly with some crazy hot sauce from the U.P of MI.

Here's a photograph of three children, who shall, at least for now, remain nameless, particularly the geek on the left.  At least, oh, never mind.

Identification Photos

In other words, I don't have a long lens so these photos are blurry, blurry, blurry; but you can identify a bald eagle with a really large fish.  While the bird is identifiable, the fish, alas, is not.  My best guess is a northern pike or a muskie.

Here's another color, glossy photo with the eagle & fish circled.  Click again to big again.

Eagle & fish.

Eagle & fish really cropped.

Here the eagle & fish are set against the trees.  Click it to big it to locate the two.  Can you see them?

Memorial Day - No Dead Soldiers Edition

Spent a night at Mrs. coldH2O's family cottage.

Here's Uncle Dan trying out his dentistry model persona.

Here's Mrs. coldH2O/Grandma walking out on the dock.

Here Mama & Marigny wait for the fish to bite.

Dada/Nick is waiting around, he's casting like crazy hoping for a hook-up.

Lucy brings out additional snacks for the fish-wait.

Mama with a big fish?

No, just a stick.  Big enough, however, for Aunt Ann to get involved.

& here's Lucy sowing wildflower seeds.

Big Time Bonus Daily Doe

Buck Edition

Notice the antlers in velvet & how he seems in really lousy shape.  I sure hope he survives & I suppose since he survived the rut, plus the winter, he should be fine.

Old & New

Here's a jumping whitetail.  I wonder what she's spooked by?  Snow, yes, the "old" of the title.

More down by the creek.

Raccoon & whitetail.

On the way back from the Cities I came up this bunch of elk on highway 70, just west of Clam Lake.

& now for the real beauties:  Lucy & Marigny.  You can visit their blog here.

OK, enough with the photos.

Marigny getting some goodies at great-aunt Ruth's counter.
Lucy, I'll be posting some photos of you soon, don't worry.

My  maternal grandmother wanted to send to this place, in Red Wing, MN,  for taking, OK, stealing, a roll of 50 pennies from a drawer at her house & then going & spending it on my younger sisters at the marina.  This place was famous for its use of rubber hoses on the young housed here.  Luckily, my wise parents did not follow here instructions & I remain free of a prison record to this day.

Sorry for the fuzziness here, I took it through the window of a moving car.

& now, even though there are already pics of deer in the post:

What Do You Mean, No Title?

Go look at my other blog & that should explain everything except why we are ruled by such  abject hypocrites. Oh, & why the Cubs can't win the World Series or the President Obama just loves him some corporations.
