The Beluga whale has been the source of much self-deprecation for years. I think it started when Mrs. coldH2Owi, The Kid, & I went to the Minnesota Zoo a long time ago. During that visit, The Kid got to hold a very large snake, some sort of constrictor, & they had a couple of Belugas in a large tank. We were able to walk next to the whales, they had a large glass area where we were able to see then close-up. They were beautiful. Later that year, while working in the woods, I mentioned that I was gaining weight & was in the Beluga stage of life. I have keep that saying about myself & repeated it ever since. Weird, eh?
