Pileated Woodpeckers Are Big

& beautiful, but quick to shy away. It would be amazing to see an Ivory-billed Woodpecker. It's extinct in the USA, & may well be extinct in Cuba as well. It's much bigger than our Pileated.

OK, OK - I've Been A Slacker Lately About Posting Photos On This, My Photo Blog

I've been busy, see, & haven't had the time to go out & take pictures on the camera thing, see?  I went to Duluth, MN, yesterday for an appt. & met The Kid & The Babies for lunch.  The Kid was up from the Cities to trade in her cross country skis for a new pair.  Here are a couple of pics of the traffic across the street from The Ski Hut, 4th St. location.

Mrs. coldH2Owi is a bit of a luminary fanatic.  She froze a bunch of H2O in ice cream buckets, however, we had a bit of a warm spell & they melted.  These are the survivors.

Surprise In The Pole Barn/Black & White From The Bank

Mrs. coldH2Owi was down in the pole barn throwing the horses a bale of hay when a bird flushed from just inside the door & lit up onto one of the trusses.  It was a tiny owl, we believe it is a Saw Whet Owl.  We've never seen one before & apparently they are a relatively rare bird to see.  He/she sure is a cutey.
