Here are three fun-with-camera photos.  They were, obviously, taken at xmas.  If you really do click 'em to big 'em, you'll see they are pretty cool.

A Special Treat For You, My Loyal Viewers

The Daily Doe(s) & A Gray Squirrel
!Video!

*Youthful memory:  I actually skated, hand-in-hand, with a girl, yes, it's true, to this song.  I know it's hard to believe, the girl-part, but it happened in Rhinelander, Wisco, at the Pioneer Park Skating Rink, which was a fast-pitch softball field in the summer. The song, a meditation on, on something was sung by, wait for it, The Trashmen, a band from Minneapolis, MN, so less.  I guess Minneapolis was pretty close to some sort of surfing.  The actual title is Surfin' Bird.

You can't click it to big it with the video.  As for the photos, yes, you can

Groundhog's Day, 2011 -- Sorry Y'[all, There Will Be No Photos Of Woodchucks Chucking Wood Or Just Lazing Around The Local Woodchuck Club

Double sorry y'all. I had a piece of my stomach tissue removed, a plug sized piece that refused to heal from some major surgery almost two years ago. The point of the story is that I developed a bit of a fever yesterday & fell asleep before I could finish the post. In as much as I was feeling pretty awful, I still believe that this post was posted on Groundhog's Day. So there. I'm feeling marginally better today in case you give a rat's ass about the condition I'm in.  Here are some more Pileated Woodpecker photos, so in flight, plus a couple of others.  Click 'em to big 'em.
